Video of the Month: Palki Dance of Ratnagiri
These young enthusiastic men of Ratnagiri in Maharashtra dance with this Palki carrying the images of the local Gods and Goddesses. Palki weighs around 80-100 Kgs. You wonder how they lift it and dance with it. The energy of the dance accentuated with the beats of the drum accompanying it has to be felt, no words or even videos can ever do justice to them.

Every Thursday evening after the Isha prayers or the last prayer of the day, Qawwalis are sung at Yousufain Dargah at Nampally, Hyderabad. Many Qalwwali groups sing through the night and you can feel the divinity in air with pure live music, as devotees offer their offerings to the singers for connecting them to the divine through their music.
