Confession by Data

Came across this interesting quote somewhere:



If you torture data sufficiently, it will confess to almost anything. (Fred Menger)



Is this not what most of us in consulting kind of profession do, try to prove our point my slicing and dicing data to support our view, but most of the times we forget what this quote says:



Data does have a problem, in that it's only available about the past. (Clayton Christensen)
